Feeling very inspired by the nuances and beauty found in this blue batik fabric, I paired a geometric pattern that allowed the fluidity of the pattern in the fabric to move within the parameters of the lines in the quilt design. Today, Tomorrow is a personal reminder of what I love about quilting—textiles, design, and pattern.

Nancy Purvis is a quilter and artist living in Albuquerque, NM. Always a creative, it was not until publishing her quilt book, Quilting from Every Angle, that she noticed what fascinated her most was the design process and the patterns found within the quilts she was making. It was the very tactile nature of hand-making, exploration of pattern making, and digital manipulation of art and pattern that sparked her interest in visual art and surface design. She began experimenting with different mediums, which has resulted in a place of patterns, lots of digital play, and a heavy dose of black.
