From his studio in Berkeley, California, Michael McEwen and team design and build custom and standard lighting fixtures that bring new meaning to the word luminaires. Since 1990, when he founded McEwen Lighting Studio, Michael has been creating fixtures from found objects, fabricated metals, blown and kiln formed glass, and Japanese lacquered woods to create some of the most unique lighting fixtures available today. His award-winning work regularly appears in design journals such as Architectural Record, Interior Design, Metropolitan Home and Travel & Leisure, among others.
