Handwoven in wool, this 4x4 vintage Persian Sofreh kilim and square rug in blue and pink features large medallions on an open field, encompassed by a beige border.
On the design:
Keen eyes for detail will admire the medallion on an open field and patterns on the blue and pink field and the beige border adding a sense of repetitive stability. There’s such an intelligent approach to that thoughtful play of gentle patterns in the medallion and the border with equally gentle transitions in color here. It’s a subtle detail, and a feat of handweaving among Persian rugs of this gorgeous, whimsical comfortable charm. It’s a regal piece like few of its period, both extremely collectible and versatile in its square size.
Condition:
This vintage Persian Sofreh rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin, and is a rare collectible.
