"When the Clay Turns Cold" series. The Sun’s Mark is a work about the irreversible nature of contact. Here, light does more than illuminate a surface: it transforms it, leaving evidence of its presence even after its source has disappeared.
Human experience works in much the same way. Some events last only briefly, yet permanently alter the way we perceive the world. Over time, circumstances fade, words and faces are forgotten, but an inner trace remains — like a shift in colour, a barely visible boundary, or the imprint of warmth upon matter.
The painting suggests that identity is shaped not only by what we are able to remember. It carries the traces of every encounter with light, intimacy, loss, and hope. The Sun’s Mark becomes an image of an experience that has already ended yet continues to exist within us, having become part of our own form.
