Exploring the relationship between nature, material, and place through contemporary textile art

Alexandra is a Chilean contemporary textile artist whose practice explores the relationship between nature, material, and place.

Working primarily with textile fibers, macramé, weaving, and other handcraft techniques, she creates one-of-a-kind and limited-edition works that translate natural forms, rhythms, and ecological ideas into tactile compositions.

Her artistic practice is deeply connected to her background in biology and ecology. This perspective informs her way of observing and interpreting the natural world, particularly the textures, structures, and interconnectedness found in Chilean landscapes.

Based in Chile, Alexandra approaches textile art as a slow and conscious practice, giving particular attention to materiality, craftsmanship, and the relationship between an artwork and the space it inhabits.

Her work includes limited-edition textile pieces and evolving bodies of work inspired by natural environments, biodiversity, and the subtle structures of living systems.
