Galatea, a majestic sculpture towering at a height of 5 feet 5 inches, commands attention upon her grey bardiglio marble pedestal. Inspired by the story of Galatea and Pygmalion, she embodies the essence of feminine beauty and grace. As the idealized representation of the divine feminine, Galatea captivates the imagination with her ethereal presence and sensuous curves.
She emerges as a sculpture brought to life by the masterful hands of Pygmalion, an artist whose yearning for perfection imbued his creation with life and enchantment. Galatea symbolizes the embodiment of idealized beauty, and the power and allure of the divine feminine.

Yoko is a Japanese–Czech American sculptor based in California and working in Pietrasanta, Italy. She creates abstract forms in marble and stone, with work in bronze and stainless steel, for architecture, gardens, private collections, and public space. Her sculptures use curves, openings, and movement to bring a sense of the natural world into built environments.

Yoko's Carrara marble sculpture Tides is permanently installed at the University of San Francisco. Her 2023 solo exhibition, Ovid’s Metamorphosis, presented eight sculptures throughout Filoli Historic House and Garden. She directs each project from drawing and model through fabrication, engineering, and placement, collaborating with specialist ateliers and fabricators as the scale requires.
