The centerpiece of the four-piece Redwood Reverence collection, this sculptural coffee table was inspired by a blissful walk through Muir Woods with my boyfriend and daughter—a moment of peace, belonging, and connection beneath the redwoods.
The table is handcrafted from a solid slab of curly redwood burl, selected for its fiery figure, organic live edges, and beautifully irregular form. A crystal-clear, high-gloss epoxy finish preserves and intensifies the slab’s amber, copper, and deep burgundy tones while retaining the natural voids and contours created by the tree.
Five Macassar ebony bow ties stabilize the slab and become part of its story. Inspired by bridges in the woods, they connect separated areas of the wood while symbolizing movement between the past and what lies ahead.
Clear acrylic front legs make the substantial slab appear to float. At the rear, sculptural legs combining redwood burl and black epoxy rest on transparent acrylic bases, continuing the conversation between nature and modern form.
