These Are a Pair of Mid-Century Chinese Giltwood Carved Shrine Panels, presented as a bold pair of wall sculptures. Originally carved as ritual or ornamental panels, they have been reimagined on solid wood backplates with a 2 cm floating gap, allowing the deep carving to cast architectural shadows under directed light.
The panels feature a striking contrast of deep cinnabar-red lacquer and gilded relief carving, framing an openwork medallion and a carved crest above. This pair measures 54 cm H × 33 cm W (21.3ʺ × 13ʺ) per antique panel, mounted on 65 cm H × 45 cm W (25.6ʺ × 17.7ʺ) backplates. Ready to hang with pre-installed hardware.
