David Santiago in a personal artisan project understood as a desire to do things well. Beyond specialized manual work, my interest is more transversal, less corporate and open to any influence, however distant it may seem.
It is a round trip path, where manual work drives design work and this tests the workshop's own practice. A way of living thinking and doing as highly dependent processes.
Perhaps because of my artistic training, my first furniture and interior projects at the time I assumed them from a condition that, although nowadays it is not so radical, is still present in my work: being myself who materialized them in all their phases, as far as possible.
Currently, from my workshop in Cantabria, I design and manually elaborate wooden objects and furniture to use and enjoy.
Much of the work in recent years is focused on the development of wooden kitchen utensils, based mainly on my interest in the world of bread, although I have always been attracted by all that constellation of contraptions and gestures related to The kitchen environment.
