Claudia E. Kazachinsky

Manhattan Beach, CA

"Modern Abstraction"
Claudia is a native of Brazil but moved to Israel when she was 12. In the mid-80s Claudia moved to Los Angeles where she still resides. Having lived on three different continents with three very different cultures gives Claudia a unique approach to her art.

Claudia’s first passion was always art. From a very young age she loved to draw and paint. After finishing her required military service in Israel, her field of studies, although artistic, took her into a different path.

She studied theater design and art history at Tel Aviv University and pursued a career in set design before coming to the United States. Claudia continued her design studies at UCLA and studied architecture at Cal Poly.

In 1995 Claudia founded CEK Design Inc, a full-service interior design and remodeling firm located in the South Bay.

While running her design firm, Claudia continued to pursue her art, keeping an illustrated journal and attending as many classes and workshops as possible to advance her skills.

Today, Claudia describes herself mainly as a watercolor artist and an urban sketcher recording her life one sketch at a time.

On her first exhibit with The EL Segundo Art Association Claudia garnered three awards, including a prestigious award for Excellence in Symbolism and Narrative.

Claudia is slowly embarking in a career as a full-time artist. She is a member of The National Watercolor Society, Valley Watercolor Society, The El Segundo Art Association , The South Bay Watercolor Society, Redondo Beach Art Group and Friends of Redondo Beach Art.
