Cath Knijnenburg (pronounced Kay-nine-en-burg) is a newly full-time visual artist
working from Australia’s beautiful Sunshine Coast.
After studying both Art and Visual Communication, Cath’s early career was in corporate design and branding, but after years of working in a digital environment, she began to yearn for more tactility and organic creative processes as escapism and mindfulness.
With a deep affection for the land around her, and the life that inhabits it, Cath’s works are predominately flora and fauna, and carry the influence of the vibrant design-based, stylistic nature of her previous career.
Cath’s large acrylic works on Belgian Linen evoke a deep sense of life and spirit, which beautifully reflect
the context of modern Australia.
She is passionate about originality and the vibrancy the right piece of art can imbue in a space. Her contemporary work is rapidly gaining popularity with pieces housed in collections throughout Australia, the Philippines, UK and Germany.
Cath paints from her hinterland studio in Ninderry, Sunshine Coast where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
