“For nearly 160 years, Eskenazi Health has offered high-quality, cost-effective and patient-focused health care to the residents of Marion County and Central Indiana. As one of America’s largest essential health care systems, Eskenazi Health provides treatment and services to nearly 1 million outpatient visitors each year.
In June 2011, Sidney and Lois Eskenazi provided a $40 million gift to the Eskenazi Health Foundation to build new hospital facilities in Downtown Indianapolis. It was the largest donation ever received by the hospital and one of the largest gifts to a public hospital in the United States.
The Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County (HHC), for which Eskenazi Health is the public hospital division, recognized Sidney and Lois Eskenazi’s gift by naming the new hospital and the health system in their honor.”
