The Miranda is a stylish cocktail bar/lounge in the heart of Oakland's Uptown district by Drexl owners Demetrius Chapin-Rienzo, Adi Taylor and Nathan Johnson. The space was designed to capture the feeling of a hotel lounge, minus the hotel. It evokes those time-out-of-place vibes with copper-veined hooded chairs, golden lights hanging from the ceiling above the bar and a salvaged registration desk complete with mail slots filled with letters and room keys.
Like the design, drink names are hotel-inspired, with cocktails like the Staycation (Pimms, Falernum, house ginger syrup, lemon, orange bitters, egg white) and the Balcony Sunrise (mezcal, Dolin Blanc, lime, grenadine, peach bitters, and espresso tincture). The interior harks back to a more elegant time, and the cocktails are classic and adventurous.
