Joel Edinger-Willson grew up in Pakistan and Germany, and got his B.A. in Studio Art (Ceramics emphasis) from Bethel University in Minnesota, where he received the Janet Wingblade Johnson scholarship for outstanding achievement in Ceramics, taught workshops, worked as a studio technician, as well as participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
After graduating in 2014, he worked as a production potter in Minneapolis and as an apprentice to S.C. Rolf in River Falls, WI. In 2015 he got married and moved to Rapid City, SD where he taught introductory and advanced ceramics classes at the Dahl Arts Center. Since completing a 15-month apprenticeship with Michael Kline in Western North Carolina, he moved back home to Minnesota and is currently working at Northern Clay Center as Education Technician and Resident Artist.
