"We are all born artists, some choose to pursue that which is only seen from the inside. I am honored to be one of these people. -Jason Ballard"Jason began making art at an early age. It wasn't until he was on his own at the age of 18 that he realized he wanted to do more with his gift than just use it on the side. He realized his imagination could be used to create his own life, artful living, seeing everything that we do as an art form.Starting his working career at the age of 18 working in stone, Jason began building a strong work ethic, that is evident in his portfolio. Moving into the machine tool industry a few years later brought a new perspective, precision. During this 8 year experience, Jason taught himself woodworking. Starting with the basics, Rustic furniture design and construction taught him a lot about how the medium likes to be worked. In 2006, Jason had an opportunity to work for a Shaker furniture company, Clearlake Furniture in Ludlow, Vt. This is where he learned how to mass produce works using industrial machinery. Focusing on his own organic conceptual designs during this time with full access to the machines, Jason was able to create larger works at a higher quality, in less time. The next 2 years flew by making most of the product line start to finish, Jason thought maybe it was time to start his own business, in 2008!Living in the small town of Grafton, VT, Jason was privileged. Having been given an opportunity to have a small working studio on the main street in such a beautiful place, definitely set him up for success. Working with people from all over the world who visited was an amazing experience that he would never forget. In 2017 Jason moved his life to Massachusetts. Investing everything he had into this endeavor to be in a more consistent economy and making him closer to his major clients who live in the Boston & New York area.
