Hi, I’m Evan.
I design accessible solutions to meaningful problems.
I’m a seasoned UX lead with 8 years of diverse experience, looking for freelance or FT work at small product studios, mid-sized startups or nonprofits. The last 2 years I’ve focused on Healthcare, designing patient-facing mobile apps, wearables and HCP dashboards. Prior to that, I built best-in-class experiences for independent leaders in Journalism, Music and Film Distribution, and eCommerce.
I thrive when I’m driving design on agile cross-discipline teams. I love daily standups, short sprints, testing early with actual users, sitting with my developers and PM, and making the most of facetime with my primary stakeholder. I’m comfortable presenting in front of the C-suite, can run design and discovery workshops for 2-10 people, and know how to read a room. I strive to ask the right questions so I can spend most of my time listening. I can also project manage, create and maintain documentation, write HTML / CSS and read most front end code.
Creating top-notch deliverables is a given with me. I’m fluent in Sketch and Adobe CC, and can quickly learn whatever tools are needed. More importantly, I know how to use the right level of fidelity to drive different stages of the design process, from whiteboard sketches to high fidelity prototypes.
I have a personal and academic background in progressive social change. In my spare time I volunteer my design skills to aid community and arts organizations and progressive social causes. I also make the world’s best guacamole and worst puns.
