The self-taught artist discovered painting as a path in 2003 after careers as a Registered Nurse and Ordained Unity Minister. Her prolific output flows from artistic impulses both representational and abstract. Recent work has taken her to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where she facilitates an annual Art Retreat for Women which attracts participants internationally. She has also formed an international collaboration with David Mendoza, a Mexican composer and performer, and Wilfried Schley, a German architect to create an installation called Birds Fly In: A Human Refuge Project.
Ellie shows and sells her work primarily from her Studio & Gallery located in a fully-renovated Victorian home. The 1895 structure sets off her colorful landscape and abstract paintings in an historical setting with contemporary sensibilities and comfort in mind.
