"A small fiber and illustration brand committed to beautiful and uplifting goods with ethical and sustainable practices."
Amanda Adams (cuz it’s just me here) is an illustrator, felt sculptor, photographer, pun master, podcaster, and printmaker based out of Baltimore, MD. She earned her BFA in Photography and Bookmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has been exploring new ways of creating art ever since. She loves botany, entomology, pop culture, and puns. She spends time caring for her ever-growing plant collection, being overly affectionate to her reluctant shop cat Brussels Sprout, and collecting books faster than she can read them. She is recognized primarily as "the peddler of plants that can’t be killed" but she is always looking for new ways to make her ideas come to life.
Close Call Studio is a fiber art and illustration brand started in 2012 that creates work designed to bring playfulness, joy, and humor to your home with a focus on ethical practices. All materials are consciously curated and are completely recycled/reclaimed (even the felt used is made out of post consumer plastic bottles), vegan, and fair trade. So here’s to having a beautiful space decorated with kindness and compassion!
