Aster Muro is the architectural art studio of fresco artist Charles Snell and his wife and creative partner, Lianne. The studio was established in 2017 and is based near Monmouth, in the beautiful Wye Valley.
Aster Muro creates fresco walls, ceilings, and panels for interiors, using specially developed contemporary fresco techniques.
Their large and immersive works of art explore how people relate to physical interior spaces and architecture in a digital age, encouraging people be present, visually captivated, and spiritually connected.
Working innovatively with pigmented plaster, they produce meaningful, inspirational and uplifting works, created specifically for each project and integral to the spaces for which they are intended.
Each fresco is a piece of narrative art; telling personal, universal and architectural stories. It is the combined result of extensive dialogue, detailed research, inspiration gathering, conceptual refinement, studio practice, and energetic, passionate and performative installation. The studio works closely with private clients, interior designers, architects and developers.
Alongside working to commission, Aster Muro also creates fresco panels which are available to purchase directly from the studio.
Aster Muro launched in September 2017 at 100% Design and exhibited in September 2018 at Decorex International, and in May 2019 at Clerkenwell Design Week. The studio is next exhibiting at The Surface Design Show in February 2020.
