My work has been collected by interiors designers for projects and private clients across the world. My work reflects our natural surroundings and is built up of layers of pigment - yet still allowing some sections of the canvas to be left exposed. I do this purposefully to create depth, inviting the viewer into the painting through investigation of the visual elements within the work.
I consider the outdoors to be an extension to my studio; it plays a significant role in my work. My practice is conducted spontaneously and intuitively through walking. I am continually intrigued by the natural elements that surround me as their movement, color, and presence inspire me.
I am excited by the unpredictability and rawness of creating a painting. I do not plan my works, nor have a preconceived idea of how they will look. I look to create work that is visually stimulating and reflects our natural surroundings without being overworked and muddy.
Currently works and lives in Edinburgh.
