"Through drawing, printmaking and mixed media, the works possess a strong reference to their materiality and the passage of time as seen through change, evolution or degradation."Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kurtzman holds an MFA from the University of Arkansas School of Art and a BFA in printmaking from Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University. Her work centers around free association action mark making, process art, drawing and printmaking. Kurtzman's work has been exhibited in galleries across the US and abroad. She has most recently been a 2018 artist in residence at the Open Wabi artist residency in Fredericktown, Ohio and a 2017 artist in residence at the Scoula Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy. She is an upcoming November 2020 artist in residence at the Draw to Perform residency in Brighton, United Kingdom. She lives and works in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she is currently an instructor of studio art at The University of Arkansas: Fort Smith.
