Aelfie was founded by Aelfie Oudghiri. Before launching Aelfie, she worked in fashion, drummed in punk bands, dropped out of medical school in Budapest, lived in Casablanca, Morocco and earned a degree in Religion from Columbia University. She now resides in Brooklyn with her husband, daughter and cat, The Shah.
Aelfie was launched in 2012 as a rug company with hundreds of antique tribal rugs and a few original designs. Since then, Aelfie have grown their line to include pillows, bedding, blankets, furniture, and more. Their rugs are proudly handmade in Northern India using traditional methods native to the region.
