In my wire work I strive for Amplification through Simplification, as described by the comic theorist Scott McCloud.
Drawing from mid century modern and the feeling of Matisse and Spansberg, I combine aesthetic investigation with the feeling and flow of Barry McGee and Parra. Modern and contemporary art, street art, manga, comics, and more influence my practice.
Created from a live model, this was the fourth piece in a series of progressively more abstract portraits.
