Xanthium, our new large wall hanging represents our homage to our ancient Anatolian ancestors, who continued developing the art of carpet weaving after the Scythians, the nomadic Turkic people, responsible for the first carpet dating back to 3rd century B.C.
Design incorporates our inspiration and interpretation of the traditional Turkish carpet motif "pıtrak" on the center, originated from "Xanthium" plants of Anatolia. The Anatolian people, who believed that the thorns on the pitrak would drive away the evil eye, used it as an amulet motif. We wish this artwork will bring Anatolian vibes to keep the evil eyes away from your home/office decor.
