Inspired by spring blooms – My butterfly friendly take on the collectors butterfly specimen boxes.
I have hand cut these larger butterflies from my own photographs of flowers which have been printed onto photographic paper. I have floated them on little plinths to create wonderful shadows. I adore the way they appear to flutter and move as the light changes. The touch of 24crt gold leaf on the antennae tips glistens and sparkles in the light and adds a precious touch to the piece. It comes in a solid wooden white box frame with a silver glitter inlay to further add sparkle and define the piece.
