This is a very condensed take on the heart of New York City: Times Square flanked by the iconic Empire State and Chrysler Buildings. These two always felt like brother and sister to me, being roughly the same vintage. I wanted to depict the light and dark, tall and tiny, hot dog cart and limousine world of contrasts that exist here, where the high and low overlap, intersect and harmonize. This contrasting energy is represented here at-a-glance to reflect the City That Never Sleeps. This 60" high print was made for Innside Hotel Nomad on heavyweight Hahnemühle German Etching paper and printed with the blackest of archival inks.
