The special gift - the personal quilt
Quilts have always been made for special occasions such as weddings, births, confirmations, birthdays - it is far more than just a warming blanket or wall hanging. It requires artistic skill, craftsmanship and perseverance. Patchwork quilts preserve memories, give joy and invite you to dream.
Below is a brief explanation of how a quilt is constructed; It consists of three layers: a front, a filling and a back. The actual quilting is the sewing of these three layers together so that slippage is prevented and the quilt has an additional plastic effect. The top can be customised using a variety of techniques, materials, shapes and colours.
In many cultures, the quilt is often even considered a family heirloom, which is given as a gift on special occasions. The fact that you can hang it on the wall, cuddle with it on the couch or let a baby play on it also makes it incredibly practical.
In consultation with you, I will design the right quilt, which will be made individually for your recipient - as a warming gift for body, mind and soul.
