Hopen is an intensely textured piece of artwork made from un-dyed, felted, merino wool. I'm often inspired by patterns in nature and this piece in particular was inspired by the wild, rugged landscape of northern Norway. My husband and I took a trip to this area of the world several years ago and the endless shapes and textures formed in the ice were top of mind while working on this piece. I love the capacity for texture you get when fiber is the medium and I hope this piece will enchant and surprise for years to come.
