Assembled in light. Elemental wall reliefs by Luis Ignacio Figallo

The name of our company, “BAS Atelier”, describes the decorative technique of low or bas relief, in a studio or atelier setting.

Bas relief is a technique that has been utilized by humankind’s earliest artists, expressed as early as 30,000 years ago in caves and stone dwellings.

Bas Atelier has transformed this classic design into an sustainable art form that evokes a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic.

The studio was founded by Luis Ignacio Figallo, a New York based designer trained at the Cooper Union School of Architecture. A passion for form, light, and handcraft led him to create BAS Atelier in 2021 after moving to Miami from NYC.
