For this tapestry I disassembled a whole lot of small electronics (computers, phones, remotes, hard drives, toys...) and removed the circuit boards, which are exquisitely fascinating. Then I strung them together with wire into a tapestry along with snaps, buttons, beads and computer cable wires. The fringe, made from colorful network connectors, adds a bit of whimsy. The piece hangs from a metal bar (36" length). It can be suspended from the wall or ceiling.

This piece unframed. It is hung from a metal bar, 36" in length.

"As a collage and mixed media artist, I create detailed and meticulously constructed artwork from photographs, books, fabric and found objects. I collect things that intrigue me and often keep them for several years before deciding how to best incorporate them into my art.

I would like for viewers to be able to stand at a distance from my artwork and see a beautiful and fascinating composition, which will in turn draw them in for a closer look to reveal the surprise of the composite parts. I use the source materials to convey my cultural heritage and deep sense of history. My artwork is wholly contemporary and global, while at the same time honoring the ethnic and traditional, paying homage to those who came before."
