GEOBOARD is the brainchild of the Egyptian mathematician, pedagogue, andphilosopher Caleb Gattegno, who made the geoboard technique of the same name popular in the 1950s. The technique involves placing small pegs on wooden surfaces and then weaving a string between the pegs to form flat geometric shapes, a technique created to give a manual approach to geometry. It is precisely by following the same concept of manual skill that the geometric shapes are created and then applied to the tiles in the collection.
