Nestled in the middle of the Colombian Andes, Boyacá is known as one of the regions where important battles of independence took place. Being home to some of the most beautiful high peak mountains, it symbolizes the beauty of colder Andean Colombian landscapes and town life and the resilient culture that emerged from the independence battles. Guacamayas, Boyacá is also home of the traditional craft of coil basket weaving, where our baskets are made.
Designed for everyday use, our tabletop basket is back in a new pattern and works in almost any room. Designed as a versatile rectangular basket, it‘s sturdy enough to be used as a woven planter and stylish enough to act as a magazine rack. A lovely accent that serves both as a decorative and storage container, each fique fiber basket is made with a traditional coil technique found in the region of Boyacá.
