Creation Therrien was born from my love for nature, and my admiration for the trees.
I have always had a connection with the forest from my upbringing in northern Quebec. I moved from Quebec to the jungles of Costa Rica, where I learned traditional techniques of working with hand tools and crafted my first live edge table, twenty years ago. The simple nature of working slabs made me realize the impact my woodwork can have on nature from taking tree down to using green energy, to sourcing appropriately and responsibly.
Most of my pieces are custom designed in partnership with my clients, to allow everyone to have an original piece of art in their home that is made just to their specifications. I am grateful for the challenges presented by each piece, and the opportunity to be creative every day. If you don't see exactly what you want on the site, don't worry! Nearly every piece is made to order -- please just drop us a note to talk about what you need.
We source our wood within a close network of small businesses and families who invest in salvaged and reclaimed lumber, always keeping in mind our responsibility as makers to make as little waste as possible. We have none, we reuse all of our wood in one way or another.
