Item details

Urban Initiatives Landscape Architects and Andrew Brophy, the City of Port Phillip Landscape Architect at the time, developed the St. Kilda Town Hall forecourt as an outdoor space for council staff and the general public. The area required a grand outdoor table and seating. Andrew was engaged to assist with the advancement of a design Andrew Brophy had conceived.

Working closely with him, Andrew developed the design and produced working drawings from which the steelwork was fabricated. The seats and 4.5-meter long tabletop, made from large ironbark boards were also manufactured and fitted by Andrew. The arrangement and length of the seats around the table allow for a number of separate groups or a large gathering of people, including wheelchair access.
