Along the towpath, just north of Fountain street is Paul Santoleri’s Concrete Tree. Santoleri “planted” a concrete tree along a long retaining wall. The relief sculpture symbolizes the resilience of nature, while giving a nod to the industrial past. Adjacent painting and mosaic show some of the flora and fauna above and below the waters of the canal.

Meet the Creator

"My artwork is a balance between a spontaneous energy and a prolonged effort; a lifetime of drawing, collecting images, responses to the world surrounding, reflections of the awesome, sometimes terrible but always amazing. I love to place the artwork where it has a chance to stay there and spin stories out of its own context."
