This mural was in partnership with Attitudinal Healing Connection, McClymonds High School, the City of Oakland and Caltrans. The Lead Artist was David Burke , the Lead Director: Aaron De La Cruz and the team of artists included Lindsey Millikan (Milli), Colin Harris, Gaelen Smith, Pablo Christi, Dave Kim, Lauren Scherf, Rafael Sanhuezam Dorias Brannon, Ryan Martin, Fred Alvarado, Magdalena Gross and Summer Munoz.
The series of Super Heroes Murals involve AHC teaching a course to school children in which they begin to envision themselves as super heroes. They identify fears and problems in their community and write stories in how super heroes could address them. The students then meet with the Lead Artist who designs with them and creates a visual representation based on this collaboration. The mural team then completes the mural with the Lead Artist and Lead Director followed by a huge ribbon cutting ceremony where the kids can see their vision realized.
