Item Details
'Mosaic' Wave (12' x 30', acrylic), is an abstract 'mosaic' mural based on a photograph by Brian Morris of a cresting wave at Huntington Beach's, The Wedge. Brian Morris along with the co-owners Keith Yang and Joe Tang came up with the concept to convert the wave into an mosaic abstraction and I was then asked to enlarge and transfer the to-scale maquette onto the selected wall and paint the various color 'tiles'.

'Conceptualization' to 'Muralization'

David Mitchell Lee has covered the full spectrum of murals, from traditional scenic paintings to graffiti & street art, from abstract solutions to photo realistic murals. And he has painted murals in residential, commercial and public art settings.

His motivation is to give 'life' (or a 'personality'), a purpose or meaning, and, if required, a story telling element or narrative to best convey the desired intent and objective of a home owner, business owner or a given community project. And, in the process, transform and reinvent an otherwise blank wall.
