Alan Rose grew up in rural Nebraska, joined the Navy at 17, and later attended the Art Institute of Chicago. After holding a variety of jobs in a number of cities, Alan finally settled into the graphic design/illustration field, working mainly in the Pacific Northwest. In 2007 he left his graphic design job to become a full-time painter. He typically depicts ordinary people in everyday situations, but with an offbeat point of view. Droll humor has always been an essential part of Alan’s work
