Unique 3D sculptural designs in Steel Wire Mesh.

I have been an artist most of my life. My primary work includes steel wire mesh sculptures and lighting. I also create ceramic sculptures.
I also combine the two media to create mix media art.


I am in three galleries located in the Seattle, Kirkland and Anacortes, Washington

Black Steel Wire Mesh Studio. I create sculptures, wall sculptures, hanging sculptures and pendant lights out of commercial steel wire mesh. The Mesh is molded, shaped and guided into unique art. I cut, clean and then coat the wire mesh to prevent rusting. It is then manipulated with my hands and a round steel ball to give the art elegantly curved shapes.

I was born in Olympia, Washington but have spent most of my life in Sammamish, Washington.

I received a BA in Art History from Western Washington University, MA in Arts Management from University of Illinois and M ARCH in Architecture from the University of Washington. My careers have included being a City Arts Director, an Architect and a Professional Photographer. These careers have inspired me to become a fulltime creator of art. I have also been fortunate to have been mentored by the following three Northwest artists. Lanny Bergner, Wire Mesh Mixed Media artist from Anacortes, Washington. Marilynn Moore. Handmade wire mesh artist from Seattle, Washington.

I like making art with my hands, the process of making art. The work emerges from my fingertips to my hands and beyond.
