Woven paintings for intimate spaces

Emily Nicolaides is a Cypriot-American artist and weaver who specializes in contemporary circular weaving. Her work is inspired by the Mediterranean, weaving history, and her grandmothers.

She first began weaving in 2013 during a workshop. She immediately fell in love with the rhythms of the weaving process, the feel of the tools, and the resulting cloth. Upon completing the workshop, Emily bought her first loom and has been weaving, learning, and experimenting ever since.

When Emily isn’t weaving, she loves reading historical fiction, eating Mediterranean food, curating seasonal playlists, swimming in the sea, and spending time with her family. She currently resides in Limassol, Cyprus with her husband, Joe.
