"Wish House/dream house" - A six month collaboration with Virginia Fleck and residents of a shelter for families experiencing homelessness, which produced the sparkling, ethereal "Wish House/dream house" sculpture. After a series of writing, drawing and crafting sessions the residents determined that the sculpture would take shape as a dream-like floating house with a sound element. Residents of the shelter worked closely with the artist designing and constructing the sculpture while also recording songs, sounds and stories for an accompanying sound track by Tim Wiens. Residents built "Wish house/dream house" by the simple act of creating the chains of can-tabs that comprise the sculpture. Child residents helped with the chaining and created hundreds of trinkets that were hung all over the wish house. "Wish House/dream house" toured throughout for two years helping to create visibility and a voice for those experiencing homelessness.
