The Distance Where Magnets Pull

Installed in the three-story windows of the stairwell of Kalmanovitz Library in UCSF, Parnassus Avenue, The Distance Where Magnets Pull is a suspended spinning metropolis. The evolution of the sculpture will be discovered as the viewer moves through the stairway. Created by Sarah Sze, this piece can be viewed in intimate detail along the interior stair, while the entire composition is visible from the street, through the three-story window.
