Reclaimed redwood on steel plate

This sculpture is made from 30 pieces of reclaimed redwood, laminated, carved, sanded and finished with linseed oil to bring out the grain and the beautiful natural colors of the wood. The piece is mounted on a steel rod and plate, that is also finished with “baked in” linseed oil. This unique sculpture is from my “Old Growth” series. The work in that series explores and treasures the beautiful end-grain of old-growth reclaimed redwood.
