Red Stoneware
Hand sculpted

Each piece is signed and numbered on /10
I'll make a "collection" of 10 pieces over time. The sculpture on the picture is the intention. Each piece that I’ll sculpt will be unique with its own personality and marks.

I like this process because it makes me come back to the shape. Each time, is a new exploration of the shape. The occasion to look at it with new eyes. To see, feel and understand it more acutely while sculpting it. The gestures, the emotions, the time, the intention, the energy are all parts of me that become part of the piece.

EDYU is a wall sculpture.
The bottom of the piece sits on semi industrial carpenter nails with a beautiful rust finish, adapted in the forge for this specific use . The top lays against the wall.

Instinctive sculpture practice

Léa Munsch explores the potentiality of clay and natural materials with an approach led by instinct and curiosity.
She draws from nature to produce primarily unglazed pieces that reveal the inherent qualities of texture and color of their materials. From her studio, an ever-evolving cast of ageless forms emerges, sculptures born at the crossroads where art and architecture meet.

Léa Munsch lives and works in Lorraine, in eastern France, where she's taken over a space in a former factory perched on a river at the heart of a forest.
