Item Details
Fred Eversley worked as an aerospace engineer until 1967 when he turned to making sculpture. As a medium, he uses transparent polyester resin to create rich optical experiences. These discs found at Terminal 2 of San Francisco International Airport were made by spinning liquid plastic around a vertical axis. The resulting centrifugal and gravitational accelerations form the concave surfaces.
