Item Details
Butterfly Wall is an interactive kinetic sculpture created by Charles Sowers that is located at Terminal 2 of San Francisco International Airport. The butterflies create a delightful dance of rising and falling mechanical butterflies. It is controlled by ten visitor-operated hand-cranks. When cranked, the 20 butterflies continuously descend their belts at a rate dictated by the air resistance of their spinning iridescent wings. This piece brings a fun and enjoyable experience for all the passengers and guests of SFO.
