Sculptures by Arthur Gonzalez seen at Taraval Police Station, San Francisco - Peaceable Kingdom

Peaceable Kingdom

Arthur Gonzalez's "Peaceable Kingdom" (sculpture, ceramic, glaze, oil, enamel and epoxy paint; 77" x 138" x 8"; 1996) is a ceramic wall piece that can be viewed at the Taraval Police Station.

Dark, somber and foreboding, Gonzalez's work encourage serious deliberation and reflection on the relationship between personal concerns and world issues. Raw in form, lacking in smoothness and rough to finish, the ceramic sculptures give glimpses of a conversation or a contemplation in progress.
