As part of a design-build contract, Amuneal engineered, fabricated and installed this monumental, 12,000-pound sculpture that measures 60′ long x 20′ tall. Amuneal used a traditional ship-building technique to create a series of welding fixtures, to ensure that each section of the sculpture followed the required form and tolerance. Over 2,000 square feet of steel was welded and ground to create this self-supporting sculpture. Due to the limitations of the site, all of the materials for this monumental sculpture needed to be loaded through a 3′ wide man door. As a result, the sculpture was broken down into 16 pieces that were fully welded, ground and blackened on site. This project offered the perfect opportunity for Amuneal to leverage the depths of both our technical approach and our artisan craftsmanship.
