From the project to the creation of a work of art
La Scala collection was designed by Mark Shilov and is a series of rugs with ideas referring to the graphics of architectural drawings. The easy-to-read potential of the image volume gives the perception of the visual illusion of abstract space. The harmonic color combinations refer to the influence of time. The plots of Chinese silk and New Zealand wool are interspersed with a play of textures that reacts differently to the incoming light.
Past grandeur imprinted in stone
The composition of the Roma Amaranto rug is a frame composed of a pattern of perspective shrinking architectural forms. The two obelisks, mirrored, are reminiscent of the classical buildings of Rome. The idea of monumental structures echoes the color of the rug - the purple hues of the color scheme set an austere, solemn tone. Hand-knotted by Nepalese masters of traditional hand weaving, preserving for generations the technology of making authentic rugs.
