Jane Dickson celebrates this age-old impulse to gather. Her mosaic artwork consists of approximately 70 expressive life-size figures. Each is in motion, walking, gesturing, linking arms, or dancing; all enjoying themselves and each other's company. This mosaic mural called Revelers are presaged by a scattering of figures in groups of two or three walking in both directions along the corridors that lead to the central open space of the station complex at Times Square-42nd Street.

“Jane Dickson has been living and working in New York City since the late 70’s, working with unconventional materials such as astroturf, carpet, garbage-bag-plastic and sandpaper. In 2008 Dickson was commissioned to create a mural for the 42nd street Time Square Station. The subsequent mural “Revelers” is comprised of a total 68 life-sized figures and can be seen in the lower-level mezzanine between Times Square and Port Authority.
Solo exhibitions of her work have been shown at The Whitney Museum of American Art at Philip Morris, Creative Time, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Major museums including The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Karamay Museum in Xin Jiang, China, and most recently the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian own her artworks. ”
